"The need to freshen my image was only too evident; the relaxed business look had become more of a scruffy shambles, it had to go. But how?

I was introduced to Joss Emmerton of The Style Consultancy via a business acquaintance whilst working on a project in Norfolk. And am I grateful for that introduction.

Through the image profiling & colour testing, Joss demonstrated great professionalism and knowledge of the subject, whilst at the same time being sensitive to my own views.

Then armed with the profile of me, it was time for the shopping. Do men do shopping? With Joss the answer is very definitely yes! We spent about 4 hours looking through shops, trying things on and buying. Joss had a knack of instantly spotting the ideal thing, there was hardly anything I tried on that I didn’t buy. And the end result? A better look for business, most definitely yes. But also a better understanding of how to dress for me, attention to detail, grooming and general deportment.

The effect on my family and friends has been startling, some insisting on Joss's telephone number and others recognising the change but not quite being able to pinpoint what.

And on top of all this, Joss is such good fun to be with!

Joss Emmerton of The Style Consultancy is highly recommended. Her expertise, knowledge and sense of fun, make the whole Image Profiling experience a highly pleasurable and beneficial one.

If you need some help with your image, your wardrobe freshening or maybe an outfit for a special occasion, Joss Emmerton of The Style Consultancy is highly recommended."

"I’m not keen on shopping and find it really difficult to know what suits me. As I’m an outdoor person and very active, I wear comfortable casual clothes the majority of the time. I know these aren’t right for my working environment so I really needed help to identify clothes that were appropriate, yet I could feel ‘myself’ in them.

I am absolutely thrilled with the difference The Style Consultancy has made. I feel professional, yet I still feel like me. I am much more mentally prepared for my working environment and this has had a huge impact on the success of my business".

I'm not overly fussed about clothes and have never believed you should be judged by what you wear. I run my own business and although I don't judge people by their dress, unfortunately I know that most people do! I decided to use an image consultant to help me find the right type of clothes for work. I needed to be comfortable, but at the same time smart enough to visit new and existing clients, sometimes at short notice.

The colour analysis was fascinating and immediately proved to me how some colours work better than others. I looked much healthier and much more like me in muted cool colours. The style consultation was also interesting and showed me how to make the best of my natural features. Armed with the information, I spent the afternoon shopping with Joss and putting the rules into practice. I bought some amazing outifts and feel I look professional at work, without looking over dressed and losing my sense of 'me'.

It really is a worthwhile service and I would definitely book Joss for personal shopping again. She made it a pleasurable and painless experience with proven results!

Joss Emmerton came to carry out colour consultations at my house, for myself, my daughter, Jane, and a friend of hers, Isabelle. Their children accompanied both Jane and Isabelle, one aged 20 months, and the other 10 months. Both children were very mobile and vociferous. Jane did not arrive till half way through the morning when Joss had already started the consultations. I mention all these points to emphasise the extremely professional and friendly attitude Joss maintained throughout the proceedings.

The consultations took place at home in a fairly remote village, which she found easily. The room we were in was fairly small but she was able to create an area with suitable space and lighting. Despite the numerous distractions and interruptions Joss maintained her focus and concentration and provided us all with a very detailed personal colour profile. She explained in detail to each of us in turn how the consultation would work and talked us through the process helping us to understand exactly how to look at ourselves in relation to different shades and tones.

I have a great admiration for someone who is able to carry out such an exacting and sensitive advisory session amidst the sort of chaos we – especially the children – created. She remained calm and enthusiastic throughout the day, and demonstrated another strength, which is her good sense of humour!

We all benefited from the session. It was a great morale booster for the two young mothers who had rather lost sight of themselves as far as fashion and flattery goes. Like me, they now carry their colour swatches with them and have found them useful and enlightening when choosing clothes.

I found the whole day great fun and reassuring. It is unusual to be able to concentrate on yourself for long without feeling guilty or being interrupted. I really valued Joss' professional attitude and her friendly encouragement, and feel that with her help I have now developed a more critical and creative approach to choosing and wearing colours.

"I don't really like shopping for clothes and tend to wear casual things I'm comfortable in, though I do want to look good when I make the effort! Since I'm getting married in a few months time, I thought this was one of those times when an effort would be well worth it. I've always been terribly conservative in buying suits previously and tended to go for the standard, safe charcoal suit - Joss helped me see what other colours suited me and helped show me what cuts flattered my body shape. She also helped me see why I preferred some tie patterns to others, which was a real eye-opener. Thanks to Joss for making what could have been a real ordeal, into a fun, useful and interesting experience."

"Before the session with Joss I doubted the extent to which wearing different colours could complement or detract from my appearance but am now convinced that it makes a huge difference. It was strikingly apparent that certain types of colour brought my face into focus while others had the opposite effect. Joss is great at her job because she is knowledgeable, personable and has a real passion and enthusiasm for what she is doing. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Style Consultancy to anybody who understands the importance of appearance and more importantly perhaps, to anybody who doesn't (after a session with Joss, they may well change their mind)."

I'd never really taken a hard look at myself physically.  Emotionally, yes, that's my profession.  But not my body.   As a life coach I'm used to wearing relaxed clothes to encourage openness between me and my clients.  But now that I facilitate groups of people who want to use coaching skills I'm feeling more self-conscious about how I appear "centre stage".   I came to The Style Consutlancy for help because I trusted Joss, having seen her in action before.  I wanted advice that went straight to the heart of the matter and I knew Joss was passionate about bringing out the best in you and didn't pull her punches.  Great!  We'd start with the colour analysis - I knew she'd love the bright colours I wear.  But how could this be? Here's Joss demonstrating that "muted deep" colours suit my skin, hair and eyes, and me, nearly in tears, seeing that my beloved hot pinks and bright apple greens do nothing for me!  Thankfully Joss is compassionate, so the grief is brief.

Joss is right.  I can see it now.  Looking through my wardrobe after the consultation, I found the few clothes I feel both confident and comfortable in are, in fact, the colours Joss pointed me towards. Interestingly I'm discovering that wearing these muted deep colours I feel more able to express the sassy me with integrity.  So, swallowing my pride, I'm chucking out "bright light" clothes and making space for more "muted deep".  I feel brighter and lighter already!

Style consultation next - now that might be really image shattering.  Great!

"The service I received from The Style Consultancy was professional yet warm. It really put me at ease and from the beginning I was confident they would be able to meet my objectives.

I’m really pleased with my new clothes. I don’t have to wear suits for work but I still look smart and the clothes are really comfortable. I feel like I look good even though my body is growing at the moment. Who says you have to be frumpy just because you’re pregnant!

I understand enough now to shop on my own. It really has changed the way I look at clothes and how to make the right purchases. I’ll definitely save money, because I know exactly what I’m looking for now! Thank you very much".

Lisa came home looking stunning and so bubbly, positively transformed in her choice of colours and styles- it was all we hoped for and more.  The colour swatch is now her clothes Bible, her only regret was the shopping time seemed to go so quickly. So many friends and colleagues said how good she looks; she's chuffed of course.  We wish you every success,

I've always had quite a good eye for colour, but like a lot of people my wardrobe was full of black! A friend of mine had a colour analysis a few months ago and I was really interested to see if I was as good with colours as I thought I was. So I booked a session with The Style Consultancy and it really was an eye opener. Over the hour and a half we spent together Joss explained to me how colours evoke memories and feelings, which in turn affects how people react to them. She taught me why certain colours work well together and bring out the best of your natural features.

Then the draping began. Joss used many different coloured drapes; put them round my neck and demonstrated how certain colours drained me yet others made me look positively glowing! This session was absolutely fascinating and you could truly see why it's important to wear the right colours.

Although I was fairly accurate in most the colours I was choosing, I can see now that as a ‘warm light' person, black is not really for me!

Finally, Joss also showed me how to wear the right make up colours to enhance my natural features. This was something I'd never given much thought to, so I found it very useful. My eyes look far brighter and greener than they used to, and my skin looks healthier because I'm wearing the right shades of foundation and blusher.

It really was an experience I won't forget and what I've learnt has been invaluable.

"you have made a real difference to the way I approach my wardrobe. I am more aware of what clothes and colours to wear to suit my body shape and clothing style. Shopping has been made much easier and I feel better about the way I look and dress for all occasions. This is a truly great service - I have told all my friends - you were brilliant! Thank you."
